As of 12:01am on Tuesday, March 19th, the merger of Disney and 20th Century Fox is officially COMPLETE!
The parent company of Marvel Studios and one of the most successful film franchises in cinema history now has the rights for some of Marvel Comics most popular characters, such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.
After the finalization of the acquisition, which was for a RIDICULOUS $71.3BILLION, Disney has announced the creation of a new studio to reflect the merger, 21st Century Fox. Under the 21st Century Fox banner, fans can expect to see such properties as Predator and the Alien franchises return to prominence.
Will this mean the next phase of the MCU will incorporate some of the newer owned properties? You better believe it! But how soon will we see the new characters? Is it possible for an X-Man to sneak into Avengers: End Game which premieres April 26th? I have no idea… but I and everyone else in the theater will certainly go nuts if that happens.
